I love therapy…and some stuff about depression

The Bad at Cleaning Blog

puppy

This post is very serious, so I felt the need to include a cutie-wudie puppy to lighten the mood.

I haven’t been writing. I’ve been in a weird place lately, and it has shown by the absence of posts.

I don’t think anyone would be shocked to hear, I am depressed.

I know, right? Some crazy thing about my baby having a deadly disease.

Well, I am going to therapy, I am on antidepressants, and I assure you I am doing okay. Not everyday is easy but not everyday is horrible. Life generally is kind of hard right now, but we are still laughing and still trying to have some fun.

I’ve been going back and forth on whether or not to address it on this blog.

I want this blog to be a place of honesty. Where dumb stereotypes and misconceptions are smashed. Where people can go and hear…

The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

BeastlyCherries2's Blog

I have always taken this phrase differently than other people. When anyone else says it they are meaning that the severity of the impact when the fallen has hit the ground is greater than that of the smaller obstacle.

When I say it I mean it takes greater force than normal to make a bigger obstacle fall in the first place.

When people say that phrase in a good way I always get confused. So, I guess there are a lot of sayings I get twisted around in my head.

To me, saying “the bigger they are, the harder they fall” right before a battle means it will me tougher than anything you have ever faced before.

Friends Don’t Let Friends Dress Foolish For Halloween.

CHASITY S. COOPER

Trick-or-treat, kiddies.

I’ll keep this short and sweet. Let me just start off by saying that the number of racial influenced Halloween costumes that I’ve seen THUS far has blown my mind completely.  And to be honest, I’ve never been one to get into the whole dressing up thing. As a youngster, I might have dressed up once or twice, but I personally never wanted to put the effort into doing an elaborate costume. I just like getting all the candy and doing the “Monster Mash”, but for those of you that dig that stuff, kudos! Knock ’em out this year.

Any who, there have been a number of very offensive images that have come across my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram timelines in the last few days, and I just thinks it is quite despicable for those individuals that have made the conscious decision to dress in blackface for Halloween.

Why jet trails are just like life

JCrow Coaching

TRAILSEver stop to think about the pattern of your life? The weaving in of good friends and bad, of wicked enemies and teaching enemies, of strangers and lovers, friends and acquaintances, passersby and lingerers … anyone who has touched your life in some way?

I generally expend significant energy on that topic, but I stray there today because of this morning’s sky. Driving to work, I glance toward the City Park below my house. First, I see the Great Blue Heron fishing in the pond. I appreciate the irony of the sight – how adaptable nature is to send a heron into the city outside its natural element. It’s like driving an hour to shop at a premium grocery.

From there, my gaze drifts upward and I catch my breath in awe. What a sky! It’s that deep blue of early dawn aflame with the gold of a new day…

The Quest for New Glasses Part 1: Starring rivetandsway.com

run.breathe.love

I wear glasses. Not because I cannot read the screen without them, but because my left eyeball likes to not completely focus. I wear them to read and for that darn astigmatism I got in the womb. So, why not look kick ass and smarter in them too! I decided that I would try something new and look for them online. Here is how it works:

1) Pick out the gems that you want to try on at home. Depending on the company, you can try, on average, 3-5 pairs.

2) Place your order for them to plop on your doorstep.. oh and it is free to try them on at home!

3) Wait impatiently for the box to arrive and hope that your apartment building doesn’t hide them from  you. (true story, happened to me today.. ugh)

4) Try them on and photograph yourself in them. Mostly because then you can…
