The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

I have always taken this phrase differently than other people. When anyone else says it they are meaning that the severity of the impact when the fallen has hit the ground is greater than that of the smaller obstacle.

When I say it I mean it takes greater force than normal to make a bigger obstacle fall in the first place.

When people say that phrase in a good way I always get confused. So, I guess there are a lot of sayings I get twisted around in my head.

To me, saying “the bigger they are, the harder they fall” right before a battle means it will me tougher than anything you have ever faced before.
